Basler Kantonalbank bolstered profits at all of its unit – with a considerable portion of luck.

Basler Kantonalbank's first-half profit climbed 10 percent to 48.2 million Swiss francs, with all of the Basel-based bank's units contributing to the rise, BKB said on Thursday.

The bank also cut spending, while investing in digitization and refreshing its branch offices – something the bank said it will continue to do.

The parent group bolstered its profit by 70 percent to 97.9 million francs. The result includes 43 million francs from lifting its stake in Bank Cler, formerly known as Bank Coop, due to negative goodwill, also known as «buyer's luck».
