Bank von Roll named a successor to outgoing Chief Executive Ralph P. Sauser. The new CEO is a member of the board and managing director at Lombard Odier's Zurich branch.

Bank von Roll, controlled by August Baron von Finck,  has chosen Hans-Peter Schmid (picture) as Sauser's successor, the bank said in a statement. The departure of Sauser was made public at the end of May following a report by finews.ch.

Schmid, 43, has years of experience in the financial market. Following a stint in consulting he was at Lombard Odier for 15 years. He worked in different capacities in asset management and private banking both in Geneva and Zurich.

He studied law at the universities of St. Gallen and Basel. At the universities of Freiburg in Germany and Strassbourg in France, Schmid acquired consolidated knowledge of European law.
