Thierry Lombard, the private banker from Geneva who spent four decades at his family's institute before quitting a year ago, is looking for a new challenge.

Thierry Lombard in January announced his resignation after 42 years at Lombard Odier, the private bank based in Geneva. Enjoying his well-deserved retirement isn't high on his mind though, it seems.

Lombard, 67, aims to acquire a minority stake in Bank Landolt as research by finews.ch and «L'Agefi» newspaper showed. A spokesman confirmed the information.

New Generation at Bank Landolt

Alexis Lombard, son of Thierry, and Frédéric Binder, his cousin, are part of the plan. The pair of them previously worked at Lombard Odier. Taking on Lombard and Binder will help Bank Landolt to start the next change of generation at the Lausanne-based private bank. The plan is to take shape in 2016.

Thierry Lombard will pass on the chair at Fondation Lombard Odier to Patrick Odier at the end of 2015 and the chair at Fondation Philanthropia to Denis Pittet.
