BNY Mellon, an U.S. investment company, appointed a new head of Switzerland after his predecessor moved to Asia.

The asset management unit of Bank of New York Mellon named Juerg Zollinger as its new head of Swiss operations, the company said in a statement today.

The appointment followed the departure of Nicolas Kopitsis, who will head the intermediaries business in the Asia Pacific region at BNY Mellon Investment Management in Singapore.

Institutional Clients

Zollinger has so far been in charge of institutional clients and will continue in this position. As head of the Swiss business, he will be assisted by a team of six.

After starting as an equity trader some 20 years ago, Zollinger subsequently worked in the portfolio management unit for rich clients at Vontobel in New York. Following his return to Switzerland he worked in business development at GL Funds and joined BNY Mellon six years ago.

The U.S. firm has been in Switzerland since 2002 and operates branches in Zurich and Geneva. The company is one of the biggest U.S. investment companies with $1,6 trillion in assets under management.
