UBS has hired a marketing specialist from Aberdeen Asset Management, adding her to the digital marketing team in its asset management business.

Sarah Tatjana Baier is leaving Aberdeen Asset Management after three years, according to research by finews.ch. The market specialist is joining the digital marketing unit at the Asset Management division of UBS.

Together with Grindelwald Tourismus, Baier was responsible for the coordination of the «Company Ski Championships», which is being sponsored by Aberdeen Asset Management.

Before joining Aberdeen Asset Management, Baier worked as marketing manager at Dealmarket, an online platform for private equity transactions.

Aberdeen Switzerland has partially revamped its team last year. Matteo Bosco, the country head of Italy is also in charge of the Swiss subsidiary.

Bidding to Merge With Rival?

The company acquired a large part of the fund business of Credit Suisse in 2009, establishing itself in Switzerland. In 2013 it also bought Scottish Widows. The Aberdeen-based asset manager is managing about 400 billion Swiss francs in client deposits.

Aberdeen has been rumored to be looking for a company to merge with, with CEO Martin Gilbert approaching potential partners. Blackstone, KKR, CS and other heavyweights are said to be interested in the company, according to the «Financial Times».
