Pictet, the private bank based in Geneva, reports a change of guard at the top of the institute: out goes a partner after almost three decades and in comes another veteran at the bank.
Pictet, one of Switzerland's biggest private banks, has appointed Nicolas Pictet as senior managing partner, according to «Neue Zuercher Zeitung». Pictet will take over at the helm of the bank at the end of June, following in the footsteps of Jacques de Saussure (pictured below), who is departing on grounds of age.
Pictet will represent the bank both internally and externally. The 60-year-old lawyer has been with the bank since 1984 and a managing partner since 1991.
Pictet is responsible for human resources, legal, risk, compliance and tax issues. He also signs for the branches in Asia, Italy and France.
Saussure was member of the owners of the bank since 1987 and was the senior managing partner since 2010.
A Management Team of Six
The private bank will have following six partners following the latest moves: Marc Pictet, Bertrand Demole, Nicolas Pictet, Renaud de Planta, Rémy Best and Laurent Ramsey, who was appointed a year ago. Pictet has been managed by a team of six to nine owners ever since its foundation in 1805.
