SIX, the Swiss stock exchange operator, has been grappling with electronic network problems since the beginning of the week. The problem hasn't been resolved yet.

The network problems have affected various SIX services, the company said in a statement yesterday evening.

«Throughout the day, SIX implemented various emergency measures to mitigate the situation and has been able to stabilize the disruption,» SIX said.

Unresolved Ahead of Brexit Vote

Having stabilized and contained the situation however doesn't mean the problem has been solved. «Until the issue has been fully resolved however, it cannot be ruled out that certain services may not be fully available.»

It isn't known whether the problems has caused any losses for customers, but in light of Thursday's referendum in the U.K., a timely solution would be welcomed by all market participants.

Consumers Also Affected

Swiss consumers also have been affected by the network problems as the payment terminals at shops across the country didn't work intermittently.
