UBS, Switzerland's biggest bank, has bought a building in West London where it operates a data center judged critical for its business.

UBS in London's Hayes district has had a data center in use for years. Now it has bought the building as several real estate and IT portals in the U.K. capital reported. The transaction was implemented with the help of Roebuck asset manager. UBS is said to have paid 28 million pounds for the 14,000 square meters.

The datacenter is critical for UBS' business. Switzerland's biggest bank has an investment banking unit in London and manages about 27 billion pounds in assets belonging to customers based in Britain.
