A former key manager responsible for the public appearance of Credit Suisse has decided to pursue a new career: in Switzerland's most famous monastery.

After eleven years at Credit Suisse in Zurich, Marc Dosch decided to leave his employer a year ago. As head of Group Media Relations, Dosch was a very public face of Switzerland's second-biggest bank, and known for his passion and enthusiasm for the job.

After leaving his lucrative employment, the 46-year-old Swiss didn't catch the attention of any journalist for a while and translated an anthropological study. Now, he's got himself a new job.

Overseeing the Monks' Business Affairs

Since the beginning of this year, Dosch is working as the director for the business administration at the Benedictine monastery of Einsiedeln Abbey and is assisting the abbot, Urban Federer, in his duties.

Dosch told «Sonntagszeitung» (pay-per-read) that he wasn't a complete stranger to the life of a monk, having spent time at the convent of Disentis in his youth, adding that he had yearned to do something entirely different.

As director of the administration of Einsiedeln monastery, Dosch won't be rid of economics though. The monastery isn't merely a place of worship, but a medium-sized company employing some 250 people.
