Even in the crypto winter, talent is in demand. A Zug-based digital asset specialist is bringing in reinforcements from crypto bank Sygnum.

Zug-based financial firm Scrypt has appointed Marc Waeckerlin as chief technology officer (CTO). The fintech provides institutional investors with access to digital assets and allows clients to manage their crypto assets through its platform.

Waeckerlin brings more than 30 years of experience in finance, software development, and engineering, according to Scrypt. Most recently, he was CTO Solutions at Swiss crypto bank Sygnum, where he introduced and led the redesign of its technology systems, according to a statement. Among other things, he recruited, trained, and led the development team there.

Prior to Sygnum, Waeckerlin worked as a software engineer at Swisssign and Siemens Switzerland, among others.
