Vontobel Asset Management has hired a new sales executive for its thriving business in Northern Europe as it aims to bolster the company's presence in the region.

Vontobel has appointed Henrik Rox Hansen as head of sales for the Nordic region and the Netherlands, the company said in a statement today. He will be responsible for building the Zurich-based bank's presence in countries such as Sweden and Norway as well as the Netherlands, with a focus on both institutional clients and wholesale investors.

Hansen is an experienced executive with a strong asset management sales background from across Europe, Vontobel said. He joins the bank from Janus Capital International, where he worked for 13 years in various management and business development roles. Last, he was head of the Nordic region's business based in Zurich.

«The Nordics and the Netherlands are important markets in Vontobel Asset Management's strategy,» said Andrew Raisman, head of sales U.K. and Northern Europe at Vontobel Asset Management. «This appointment marks a new stage in diversifying our European client base.»
