Swiss outsourcing company Etops said it has hired a veteran UBS banker for its strategic expansion, the second hire in five months from Switzerland's largest bank.

The Pfaeffikon-based company said that Neil Stiefel will join as a partner and head of business development. He was most recently chief operating officer of global financial intermediaries at UBS, where he has worked since 1990 in both asset and wealth management.

Stiefel will be tasked with positioning Etops, which provides middle- and back-office services for family offices and independent asset managers, and for spurring growth plans.

Further UBS Hire

«We are thrilled that Neil joins our company to help us capitalize on our technology and market presence and to help to scale our business and seize emerging growth opportunities,» Etops co-founder and Chief Executive Michael Appenzeller said in a statement.

In February, UBS investment banker Niloo Verma Bruppacher joined Etops as general counsel. Founded in 2010, Etops' clients now manage more than 20 billion Swiss francs.
