The board of Hotel Savoy Baur en Ville, Credit Suisse's luxury hotel on Zurich's Paradeplatz, is complete: a member of the bank's executive has taken the seat vacated by Hans-Ulrich Meister.

When Hans-Ulrich Meister left Credit Suisse (CS) in October 2015, he also gave up his seat on the board of the Hotel Savoy Baur en Ville, which sits right across Paradeplatz in plain view of the Credit Suisse headquarters in Zurich. The board is now complete again, according to Switzerland's company registry.

CS' lawyer in chief, Romeo Cerutti (pictured below) has taken the seat vacated by Meister. He also is member of the executive board of CS. A spokesman for the bank confirmed the appointment when asked by «Bilanz», a Swiss business magazine.

Urs Rohner, chairman of Credit Suisse, is also chairman of the luxury hotel. Christina Hörger-Stössel and Peter Rothenbühler are the other members.

Object of Rumors

Rumors had it that CS wanted to sell the Savoy hotel as the bank reduced the real estate holdings in recent years. For instance, it sold the Uetlihof office block and the formidable Metropol building opposite the central bank branch in Zurich, overlooking the Limmat river, one of the prime office sites in Zurich. Reason for these sales was to improve the capital stock of the bank. Credit Suisse in 2014 sold another prime building, the Grieder block, also on Paradeplatz, to Swatch Group, the watchmaker.
