2. Bernhard Hodler – Cleaner-Upper

Risk veteran Bernhard Hodler (pictured above) spent less than two years at the helm of Julius Baer – and nevertheless dramatically changed the Swiss wealth manager during his tenure.

The 59-year-old's primary job? Come to grips with the fallout from a heady ten-year growth period under his predecessor, star banker Boris Collardi. Pesky legal and regulatory problems including a Venezuelan crime scandal as well as bloated spending were weighing on the bank's shares.

At the same time, Julius Baer suffered a series of key exits for Pictet, where Collardi became a partner 18 months ago. Hodler's successor, Philipp Rickenbacher, is working on deeper spending cuts than those disclosed early this year, as finews.com reported.
