Swisscanto Invest has poached a team from sustainability expert RobecoSAM. It’s not the first time that the Swiss asset manager has seen its experts depart for jobs at rival firms.
Swisscanto Invest, the asset management division of Zuercher Kantonalbank (ZKB), is widening its sustainability expertise. It has poached a team of four experts from sustainable investment firm RobecoSAM, according to a statement on Tuesday.
Fabio Pellizzari (pictured below) is the team’s leader and will become responsible for the development of the segment and head the sustainability-committee at Swisscanto Invest. He will report to Steve Michel, the head of business development at the asset management division of ZKB.
Paris Climate Goal
Pellizzari’s team includes Eleanor Willi, Ruben Feldman and Antonio Granell. The addition of the team comes right as the bank confirmed that the Paris climate goal will become a central focus of its entire investment process. ZKB is owned by the canton of Zurich.
RobecoSAM meanwhile has to accept another departure. In April 2019, the two former co-heads – Marius Dorfmeister and Daniel Wild – left for jobs at the competition. In September, the head of sales, Marco Buechler, joined Capital Group.
Experts in Demand
RobecoSAM has been a pioneer in sustainable investments and has almost a quarter of a century of experience in this field. The mainstream finance jumped on the bandwagon some three years ago. Experts working for companies such as RobecoSAM are all the more sought after.
