Before an Asian hotel group takes over the Savoy Baur en Ville, Credit Suisse is auctioning the Paradeplatz luxury hotel's inventory.

The Savoy Baur en Ville (pictured below) is selling its entire inventory at auction on January 22, according to a notice published by auctioneer Alfred Hotz (in German). The Credit Suisse-owned luxury hotel sits kitty-corner to the Swiss bank's headquarters on Paradeplatz.

Perched on the east end of Paradeplatz, the five-star hotel is the embodiment of Zurich's banking industry. Owner Credit Suisse as well as Julius Baer and Switzerland's central bank have traditionally used the luxury hotel's gilt-trimmed banquet hall for meetings and events.

Credit Suisse handed over management of the 183-year-old hotel to Mandarin Oriental last year. The Hong Kong-based hotel operator tasked Parisian architect Tristan Auer with a complete refurbishment of the Savoy's gold and yellow-themed interior.

The furniture set to hit auction includes gilt mirrors, gold damasque curtains, and silverware from Orisini, an Italian restaurant specialized in Tuscan cuisine that is popular with Zurich's banking executives.
