There is a change in chairmanship at the Geneva-based private bank CBH. He's keeping his eyes open for an acquisition.

Sylvain Matthey-Junod is the new Chairman of the Board of Directors of Geneva's Compagnie Bancaire Helvétique (CBH), replacing replaces Thierry Weber, who chaired the supervisory body since 2009, the bank announced Wednesday.

Matthey-Junod was first elected to CBH's board in January this year, and Weber will remain a colleague of his on the board.

At Pictet, Lombard Odier and Syz

He brings extensive knowledge of the financial industry to the chairmanship. Among other things, he headed the legal and compliance departments at Pictet, Lombard Odier, and Syz Group, gaining board experience as a member of the latter.

Matthey-Junod said, «If an opportunity for a targeted acquisition arises, we will certainly consider it very carefully.» 

At the end of June, CBH had assets under management of 14 billion Swiss francs and revenues of 100 million francs, with an operating profit of 57.97 million, according to the statement.
