Swiss cloud solutions provider DSwiss has a new CEO, ending an interim appointment lasting several months.

IT service provider DSwiss appoints Alexander Sommer as its new CEO, replacing Burkhart Boettcher, who took over as CFO on an interim basis following Tobias Christen's move to Migros-Genossenschafts-Bund.

Boettcher will focus entirely on his role as CFO, according to a statement issued by the Zurich-based company on Friday. Sommer was CFO and COO at travel booking platform Nezasa before joining DSwiss. Before that, he held several positions at the technology group Rackspace for over 13 years.

The appointment will complement the leadership team for the company's next phase. «Alexander Sommer, with his international experience, broad expertise, and clear philosophy on how to set up successful software-as-a-service companies, is predestined to successfully develop DSwiss further,» says chairman Hans Oury.

Christen Joins the Board

After nine years as head of DSwiss, former CEO and co-founder Christen joins the board of directors. He took up a position at Migros-Genossenschafts-Bund in January as head of Enterprise Security Architecture.

The company was founded in Zurich in 2008 and its customers include a number of financial service providers and insurance companies. DSwiss bills itself among the world's leading providers of high-security digital products and operates the SecureSafe password and file manager.
