The Zurich-based investment house has appointed a new head for the Florida branch of its subsidiary, Vontobel SFA. He'll mainly focus on the company's business with wealthy Latin Americans.

According to a statement from the Zurich-based investment house, Vontobel Swiss Financial Advisors (SFA) appointed Victor Cuenca as head of wealth management in its Miami, Florida office. The firm is a subsidiary of Vontobel, providing licensed offshore private banking services to US clients from Switzerland.

The appointment of Cuenca explicitly expands the offering to a Latin American clientele. For the region's wealthy, Miami is an important hub.

Contacts as far as Spain

Cuenca has over two decades of experience in business development with institutional and private clients in Latin America, Spain, and Portugal. Most recently, he worked for the private banking arm of major Spanish bank Santander in Florida.

Specifically, Cuenca will be responsible for expanding private banking client relationships in Miami and implementing Vontobel SFA's business strategy with Latin American clients, including clients domiciled in the US and other countries in the Americas. He reports to Peter Romanzina, Head of Vontobel SFA in Zurich.
