While Credit Suisse still hemorrhages staff, two experienced executives join an American asset manager.

Since the start of December 2023 Isabel Faragalli has been Managing Director of Investments for Spectrum Asset Management, the boutique manager for preferred and capital securities of Principal Group. Principal Asset Management is the global business unit for investment solutions of Principal Financial Group with managed assets in excess of $500 billion.

Ivo Mathias Buschor will head up sales, clients, and advisory activities in this market across all asset classes and investment teams. Both will be working from Zurich, according to an announcement on Monday.

Faragalli will be responsible for the collaboration with and management of Spectrum’s current European investors, as well as investors in Latin America and the Middle East. Spectrum Asset Management manages preferred and capital securities with total assets under management of over $20 billion.

Collaboration in Sales

Faragalli will also be responsible for collaboration with the sales teams at Principal Asset Management, representing Spectrum to potential and current pension, insurance, private banking, and institutional investors throughout Europe, Latin America, and the Middle East. Buschor will also be in charge of sales throughout Switzerland and work with Christoph Salzmann, Isabel Zwicker, and Cyrill Zumoberhaus there.

Buschor has accumulated 27 years of experience in the investment industry. Prior to that, he worked for 14 years at Credit Suisse in various roles in the Wealth Management and Asset Management divisions, including head of sales management for Latin America, head of client portfolio management at Private Banking Switzerland, and most recently co-head of investor relations for the Private and Alternatives Group.

Extensive Experience

Before joining Credit Suisse, he held positions at UBS, Twelve Capital, Lombard Odier, and KPMG. Buschor has a bachelor’s degree in economics and business administration from the University of Applied Sciences St. Gallen and is a CFA charterholder.

Faragalli also joins the company with 27 years under her belt in the finance industry. Previously, she worked for 17 years at Credit Suisse in various investment banking and wealth management roles, including head of investment consulting for Latin America and most recently as head of securitized products Switzerland at IB Debt Capital Markets.
