Independent Swiss asset manager VT Wealth Management wants to serve clients from Canada in the future too and has hired an experienced client advisor for this purpose.

Independent Zurich-based asset manager VT Wealth Management has hired Urs Meier as a client advisor to step into the Canadian market, the company told finews.ch on Friday.

Meier has been working in the financial sector for 35 years. He has built up an excellent reputation in his previous roles as managing partner and chief investment officer (CIO) at SSI Asset Management, and senior relationship manager at SSI Wealth Management, according to further information. His move from a well-established asset manager to VT Wealth Management will mean he can devote even more time to looking after his long-standing clients.

Swiss Banking With Digital Expertise

Meier’s involvement also highlights VT Wealth Management’s strategy to position itself as a bridge between traditional Swiss private banking and leading digital expertise, as was further learned. «Our company wants to grow organically and remains committed to maintaining its independence,» Sacha Fedier, owner and CEO of VT Wealth Management, said on Friday.

«The challenges in succession planning, increasing regulatory requirements, and the diverging goals of partners due to different age structures are prompting more and more asset managers to consider mergers or even sales. In this dynamic environment, private equity firms are increasingly discovering the appeal of entering this flourishing growth market. But it’s still unclear whether the company’s original independence and essence can be preserved in such transactions,» Fedier added.

Several Billion Swiss Francs of Client Funds

Founded in 2008 by Thomas Fedier and Joseph Belle, VT Wealth Management currently has over 30 employees and is led by Fedier’s son, Sacha. The company manages several billion Swiss francs in client funds – it has not provided more detailed information.
