Swiss private bank Notenstein La Roche is hiring a new finance and operating chief. The incoming executive previously led an American private bank in Switzerland.

Patrick Fuerer joins the top management Notenstein La Roche effective July 1, the private bank said on Monday. He replaces Basil Heeb, who recently decided to leave the Zurich-based firm, which is owned by cooperative bank Raiffeisen.

Fuerer has worked for Morgan Stanley's private bank in Switzerland since 2009, most recently as Chief Executive and previously as operating chief. Before joining the American bank, he was part of Raiffeisen's top management and responsible for information technology and operations.

Before Raiffeisen, the 52-year-old PhD economist was head of operations at WestLB.

Raiffeisen Expectations

«Patrick Fuerer not only brings extensive experience in operative management, but also profound knowledge of banking and financial market. We are convinced that he perfectly fulfills the requirements to further develop Notenstein La Roche together with top management,» CEO Adrian Kuenzi said.

Owner Raiffeisen made clear its growth expectations for the small firm.

«Notenstein La Roche as Raiffeisen's private banking subsidiary has embarked on an ambitious development path and will continue to expand its position in Swiss private banking. Patrick Fuerer can make an important contribution to this,» Raiffeisen boss Patrik Gisel said in a statement.
