The last chief executive of Notenstein La Roche private bank has joined another bank – in Liechtenstein.

Liechtensteinische Landesbank (LLB) appointed Patrick Fuerer as chief operating officer and member of the executive board, the company said in a statement on Wednesday. Fuerer will start at the bank in Vaduz on January 7, 2019.

Fuerer, 53, was the last CEO of Notenstein La Roche before Vontobel assumed the private-banking division of Raiffeisen. He was took over at the helm of the bank a year ago, when Adrian Kuenzi departed. His efforts were doomed and Vontobel pounced on the St. Gallen-based bank in May of 2018.

An Experienced Banker

Fuerer is an experienced banking executive. He has been a member of the executive committee of Morgan Stanley Switzerland, where he helped boost the Swiss business. As CEO, he was the key man to complete the divestment of the Swiss unit to J. Safra Sarasin.

At LLB, Fuerer will be helping Roland Matt, the head of the bank which is majority-owned by the principality.
