The Dutch asset manager snapped up several Swiss fund managers, including one to replace a high-profile sustainability veteran who defected to a competitor.

Robeco is hiring Roman Boner as the lead portfolio manager for its «smart energy» strategy, effective immediately, it said in a statement on Monday. Boner, who most recently built Woodman's asset management impact line, replaces Thiemo Lang, who started as a senior portfolio manager at Polar Capital in London this month.

Lang's lieutenants at the boutique, Guenther Hollfelder and Thomas Guennegues, also left for Polar, in Zurich, according to their LinkedIn profiles. Robeco said seven equity analysts will join its sustainable department in coming months, including Michael Studer from Acoro as a senior technology analyst and deputy to Boner on the smart energy strategy.

The others are Mutlu Gundogan from ABN Amro Oddo BHF as a senior chemicals analyst; Sanaa Hakim from Independent Franchise Partners as a senior analyst for energy efficiency and renewables; Clément Chamboulive as a senior technology analyst (previously 2Xideas); Alyssa Cornuz from Credit Suisse as an analyst on Robeco's healthy living strategy; Simone Pozzi of Alantra as an analyst for industrial automation and process technologies; and Diego Salvador Barrero, most recently with BBVA, as an analyst for energy distribution and renewables.
