Basel-based Bank J. Safra Sarasin is pushing into the provinces, opening a new branch in Baden. To staff the new office, the bank found what it was looking for at Credit Suisse.

J. Safra Sarasin has opened a new branch in Baden in the canton of Aargau, recruiting a team of senior bankers from Credit Suisse. It's a further important step in the bank's growth strategy in Switzerland, according to a statement Monday.

The branch will be headed by Stefan Holderegger, reporting to Yves Sarasin, head of private banking for domestic clients.

Wealth of Experience

Holderegger comes from Credit Suisse where he was most recently market manager for high-net-worth individuals (HNWI) for Baden, Brugg, and Freiamt. Before that, he worked at Neue Aargauer Bank (NAB), which was acquired by Credit Suisse, and Zuercher Kantonalbank, according to his Linkedin profile. He also worked at Credit Suisse between 2006 to 2011 in various positions.

His team includes senior bankers Christian Pelli, André Nydegger, Raphael Meier, and investment advisor Lukas Furrer. The new employees have many years of experience in serving private banking clients. This will give wealthy individuals, families, and institutions in Aargau access to customized services from the bank and sustainable investment solutions, according to the statement.
