Private bank Edmond de Rothschild is said to want to leave its traditional headquarters in downtown Geneva.

The Banque Edmond de Rothschild (EdR) wants to move soon from the Rue de Hesse to the new Quartier de l'Etang in Vernier, according to «Immobilier.ch» (in French), without naming the source.

No date has been set for a move to the new location, where most of the bank's 600 employees could be under one roof, according to the report.

Pictet's Monumental Tower

The bank is involved in financing the huge real estate project in the Quartier de l'Etang located west of the city center, through its Edmond de Rothschild Real Estate fund.

Other traditional Geneva banks are also leaving the historic quarter of downtown Geneva. Lombard Odier plans to relocate to Bellevue in 2024, and Pictet plans to move to a new monumental tower being built in the new La Praille Acacias Vernets (PAV) district in 2025, finews.ch also reported.
